Glenn Barden is an award winning Director, Executive Producer and Showrunner who has delivered critically acclaimed, ratings grabbing films consistently both in the UK and the US. He is known for delivering scale, cinematic ambition and humour. And  he’s produced films ranging from entertaining music docs to journalistically driven crime  series  and content rich, visually stunning science and natural history. 

He was series producer of the $30 million Emmy and Grierson nominated, multi Wildscreen winning, Nat Geo/Disney series One Strange Rock, executive produced by Darren Aronofsky and hosted by Will Smith.

He produced and directed the feature doc F**K IT UP! . Described as “the real Spinal Tap” it was an Official Selection at Hot Docs  and is set for a limited cinema release in the UK. 

Most recently he Executive Produced the critically acclaimed true crime series Rich and Shameless for TNT/HBO. 

Glenn is much sought after for his versatility and  has produced and directed an eclectic output in the factual arena from Specialist Factual series like The Brain with David Eagleman , to prime time Factual Entertainment shows like Masterchef. But whatever the output, his motive has been to tell stories in the most interesting, entertaining, and visually exciting way possible.

A skilled writer, he has had his words read by Will Smith, Stanley Tucci, Michael Sheen,  Rob Lowe, and more. He is also a print journalist with work published in The Times and In March 2014 his debut novel My Little Soldiers was published by Piranha Press.

 Glenn started his career at MTV and worked his way up from News Writer to Senior Creative. He then left to direct documentaries for the terrestrial channels He directed the first TV documentary that followed model Katie Price (aka Jordan) and also series produced the music show Acetate for BBC2.

In 2000 he set up his own independent production company Vashca which he ran successfully for 8 years. And it was here that he co-created the hit endurance entertainment format Touch The Truck, as well as, the history series I Predict A Riot, a documentary on avante-garde musician Harry Partch, the spoof rock doc series Towers of London,  the documentary The Real Dirk Diggler , the BAFTA nominated Holiday In My Bedroom. And the hard hitting current affairs series Crime Invasion with Rageh Omaar, 

He is experienced with high profile talent, comfortable running large teams, and loves the challenge of the edit. He also relishes on location shooting, he spent 2 months filming a road trip ob docs series visiting religious cults and earlier this year spent a month in the Namibia desert filming elephants.
