Rod Williams


Rod is an Emmy Award-winning Director, Showrunner and Executive Producer.  Over 20 years he has made compelling primetime documentaries and factual entertainment for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4.   His programs frequently achieve a combination of critical acclaim and huge ratings going on to become long-running brands.  His factual entertainment successes include the original ‘Neighbours from Hell’ (47% audience share) ‘Documentary making at its best’ The Observer, ‘Ladette to Lady’ ‘Insightful social commentary … A rare example of ITV at its best’ The Daily Telegraph, ‘Sugar Free Farm’ and ‘Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls.

Rod also directs single documentaries involving difficult and sensitive access.  These include ‘James Bulger: A Mother’s Story’ (4.9 million viewers, one of ITV’s highest rating single docs of 2018) and ‘A Kill for a Kill’ for ITV and HBO about the witnessing of an execution in Texas for which he won an international Emmy for outstanding news and documentary achievement.
