Adnan Ahmed is an acclaimed director and cinematographer with a reputation for crafting cinematic films that explore complex and sensitive subjects. Recent credits include Big Zuu Goes to Mecca (BBC2), which was hailed by The Guardian as “a quietly revolutionary portrait of Islam” (★★★★★) and won Adnan a Grierson Award and an RTS-nomination. He Series Directed Manhunt (C4) following an elite police unit and also filmed across the BAFTA-winning series The Detectives (BBC2). A skilled cinematographer, Adnan has made programmes for Netflix, Nat Geo, The BBC and Channel 4 in a career spanning over 20 years, as well as working on international feature docs from The Trouble with Mr Doodle (ACME Films & Lightbox) to Street Kids United, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. He is a trained broadcast journalist with valid i-Visa and is hostile environment (HEFAT) trained.
