A sophisticated documentary film maker with a gritty edge, David’s films are made for a global audience, whether unfolding narratives or retrospective stories, all his work displays a dedication to storytelling and rigorous journalism. He has delivered to Netflix, NatGeo, Discovery, A&E, Animal Planet, BBC, Sky & Channel 4.

David is interested in crime, history, terrorism, and politics. He is particularly accomplished in persuading people to talk on camera, whether Surgeon whistle blowers (Netflix; Untitled), people accused of horrific crimes (A&E, The Accused), a Cartel Hitman (NatGeo, Drugs Inc) or Chicago’s principal heroin importer (Sky, Ross Kemp’s Extreme World).

David has a deep passion for archive, he has a finely honed skill of using news footage, (Osama Bin Laden, C4), home footage (Vendetta, Netflix) and historical archive (A Fair Cop, BBC) in a sophisticated and complex manner.

David is adept at managing large teams spread over geographically diverse locations. For Vendetta (Netflix), he managed three shooting teams in Italy, a production team in London and multiple edits, much of this through the pandemic.

He ensures that his teams are highly skilled at maintaining contributor relations, finding the best stories, following unfolding narrative and ensuring the directors are capturing the drama of every sequence shot.

David has vast experience working on legally complex and sometimes dangerous stories. Vendetta, a series about the corruption of the Italian mafia, told through the perspective of a Judge and a Journalist who were both accusing each other of wrongdoing and who were both on trial facing serious charges, is proof of his ability to manage tricky participants in scenarios with an unpredictable unfolding narrative.

With his background as an investigative journalist, David ensures that every one of his films and series are based on rigorous research and gripping storytelling.
