Jenny cut her teeth making films for the United Nations in war-torn Bosnia. In the early years that followed, she directed everything from an intimate portrait of Dolly Parton to America the Story of US—an Emmy-winning, Obama-introduced history of slavery—and The Pity of War a drama-documentary starring John Hurt about the secret love affair between WWI poets Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon.

Her 2025 feature-length film Flight 149 Hostage of War, premiered at SXSW before launching on Sky Documentaries to widespread acclaim:

A staggering film… as much to entertain as to shine a light on a colossal miscarriage of justice.” —The Guardian

“Unfolds with the pace and intrigue of a prestige thriller.” —The Sunday Times

“Gripping and beautifully made.” —The Telegraph

Other recent work includes Nuremberg The World's Biggest Murder Trial —“Gripping… distils the almost bland horror of the Nuremberg trials with stark emotional impact.” —The Telegraph—and Bin Laden: The Road to 9/11, a landmark Channel 4 series told from a Middle Eastern perspective.

Her ground-breaking film 100 Vaginas became an instant cultural touchstone, earning a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and five-star reviews across the board:

Quietly revolutionary… exquisite.” —The Independent

Extraordinary and empowering… relentlessly radical.” —The Guardian

“A perfect combination of directness and compassion… I was moved to tears.” —The Telegraph

Its companion film, Me And My Penis, continued the conversation around masculinity:

The companion piece to taboo-busting 100 Vaginas is equally powerful and exquisitely rendered.” —The Telegraph
“

“Important, sensitive and emotionally devastating.” —The Independent
“

A beautifully shot documentary.” —GQ

Like all great art, it made you think… you’ve never seen anything like this before.” —The Times

Other standout work includes the Grierson-nominated Angry White and American described by The Guardian as: “An unflinching look at American despair and racial hatred… a thoughtful, generous-hearted film. Essential viewing.
