Nick Francis is an award-winning director, producer and executive producer whose films have won worldwide critical acclaim and have been distributed across cinemas, television and streaming platforms.

He tells character-driven stories to illuminate some of most pressing social issues of our time for mainstream cinema and television audiences. 

He has worked with leading platforms around the world including the BBC, Channel 4, Sundance Institute, BFI, National Geographic, Arte, PBS and Netflix.

His directorial work includes the Sundance-hit ‘Black Gold’ and BBC Storyville’s ‘When China Met Africa’.

Nick has worked globally on commission for The Guardian making a series of observational short films following the first female Presidents of Chile and Malawi. He has also directed films for international NGO’s, including UNHCR and Amnesty International. See Being Laxmi

He also serves as an executive producer on broadcast and theatrical documentaries. Recent projects include: the Benedict Cumberbatch narrated film Walk With Me, released theatrically in over 30 countries and with Netflix in the US, and the BBC’s ‘War Requiem – Staging A Masterpiece’.
