Three projects from Stern & Wild filmmakers nominated for the 2025 Rose d’Or Awards
Congratulations to Stern & Wild clients John Joe Bardsley, Leila Monks and Toby Trackman whose three wonderful projects have been nominated for this year’s Rose d’Or Awards. We are absolutely thrilled for these fantastic filmmakers and their talented teams.
John Joe Bardsley is Series Producer of the fascinating adventure reality show BACK TO THE FRONTIER (Wall to Wall Media/Warner Bros Discovery International Distribution/HBO Max/Magnolia Network) which is nominated in the Factual Entertainment and Reality category. Shot on location in the Rocky Mountains, the eight-part series follows three American families who leave the 21st century behind and attempt to survive as 1880s homesteaders.
New Stern & Wild client Leila Monks is Executive Producer of the fantastic six-part docuseries GUARDIANS (The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales/United for Wildlife/ZANDLAND) which is shortlisted for best Multiplatform Series. From the snowy mountains of the Himalayas to the remote rainforests of Brazil, the digital-first series highlights the critical work of the world’s unsung conservation heroes, redefining our understanding of rangers and the vital yet unseen work they do to protect our planet.
Our final nominated client project is one of the year’s most acclaimed productions, THE LAST MUSICIAN OF AUSCHWITZ (Two Rivers Media/Abacus Distribution/BBC/BBC Network) directed by Toby Trackman which is nominated in the Arts category. Commissioned by the BBC to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, the haunting feature documentary tells the story of cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, the only surviving member of the Auschwitz orchestras, and brings to life the testimonies of four other musicians who composed and played music in the Nazi concentration camps: Adam Kopyciński, Szymon Laks, Martin Rosebery D’Arguto and Ilse Weber.
Well done to all the nominees and the best of luck on the night. Winners will be announced on 1 December at the Awards Ceremony in London which will be hosted by comedian Dara Ó Briain. To read a full list of nominees, click here.
