Tom Beard’s compelling new investigative series for Nat Geo drops in the US

Shout out to super talented Stern & Wild filmmaker Tom Beard whose powerful new series NAMING THE DEAD launched this week in the US on Nat Geo, Disney+ and Hulu.

There are thousands of bodies lying unnamed and unmourned across America with no way of identifying them, until now. With unprecedented access to active investigations, the six-part series follows the groundbreaking work of the non-profit DNA Doe Project, a US-based voluntary group of scientists, investigators and researchers who use investigative genetic genealogy to help law enforcement crack some of the country’s most confounding cold cases.

Produced by Wall to Wall for Nat Geo, the project has been a true labour of love for Series Director Tom who was brought in at the very outset to create the style, tone and look of this ambitious production. Tom found following the work of the detectives and coroners a remarkable experience and was deeply moved by the strength of the families of the victims.
