Matthew is a multi-award winning and BAFTA nominated filmmaker specializing in premium, finely crafted documentaries.

He is passionate about making emotive and stylish films with compelling stories thoughtfully told. His visual flair combined with a love of film, photography and fine art provide him with a rich array of visual refences to deploy in making work of cinematic ambition and scale. 

With over twenty years experience in filmmaking, Matthew’s portfolio includes projects for BBC, HBO, PBS as well as several global brands. He  is equally comfortable crafting films led by celebrated on - screen hosts, character driven unfolding narratives, or archive led retrospectives.

Among his most recent credits are the multi-million dollar One Cup, A Thousand Stories for BBC and Chinese brand Migu together with the landmark history series Civilisations for BBC and PBS. More recently, Matthew  harnessed his long term relationship with the British Royal Family, to deliver the intimate reflective piece HRH Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers which sold to territories and platforms across the world. 

Matthew brings extensive knowledge of international filming, and has the technical know-how and keen eye to be a cinematographer in his own right. Whatever the project, Matthew enjoys creating a collaborative and positive spirit in teams large and small. 

He is currently working on a feature-length doc for a leading global sports brand and Amazon Prime.
