Stern & Wild client helms moving portrait of a national treasure

Congratulations to Stern & Wild filmmaker Andy Dunn, Director of IN MY OWN WORDS: TOM JONES, the latest film in the BBC’s cultural biography strand which airs tonight.

Now in its second series, IN MY OWN WORDS features leading cultural figures looking back at their life and career with intimate, unmediated first-person interviews mixed with archive and actuality. Andy’s film looks at the extraordinary story of Sir Tom Jones, “Britain’s biggest voice”, as he discusses his journey from working-class childhood in the Welsh valleys to a world of international stardom. In an intimate and heartfelt interview, Tom reflects on how he has fought to balance fame and family, fortune and staying true to the gift he was born with. It’s a poignant watch.

The film is a BBC Studios Music production for BBC Arts. The Commissioning Editors for BBC Arts are Mark Bell and Suzy Klein; Alison Howe is Exec Producer. It airs on BBC One at 10.40pm tonight and is available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
