Stern & Wild filmmaker's stunt driven Joe Wicks documentary airs tonight
One of the year’s most provocative documentaries is set to launch on Channel 4 tonight following a week of heated press and social media coverage.
Directed by Stern & Wild’s Storm Theunissen, JOE WICKS: LICENSED TO KILL follows the popular fitness guru as he launches a campaign to convince the government to change the UK’s food laws by making and selling a ‘KILLER’ protein bar which includes ingredients linked to cancer, diarrhoea, stroke and early death, all of which are entirely legal in the UK and commonly found in other products. Working alongside doctor and scientist, Professor Chris van Tulleken, Joe Wicks aims to ignite debate through the incendiary stunt and expose the truth about the dangers of ultra-processed food.
The one-off documentary is a KEO Films production for Channel 4. Exec Producers for KEO are Will Anderson and Andrew Palmer; Jacob Greenhalgh is Producer. It was commissioned by Tim Hancock, C4’s Commissioning Editor for Factual Entertainment & Documentaries.
It premieres on Channel 4 at 8.00pm tonight. For a flavour, watch Joe’s advert for the ‘KILLER’ bar here:
