More plaudits for James Kent’s BBC gay adoption drama

Shout out to Stern & Wild filmmaker James Kent, whose wonderful BBC drama series LOST BOYS AND FAIRIES continued its award-winning streak with the prize for best TV Movie/Mini-Series at the recent International Emmys.

The Emmy Award follows wins at the 2025 BAFTA Cymru Awards (Best Television Drama; Best Director - James Kent; Best Writer - Daf James; Best Actor - Sion Daniel Young; Best Editing - Danielle Palmer), the 2025 Banff Rockie Awards (Best Limited Series), the 2024 Seriencamp (Official Competition Award), and the 2024 Attitude Awards (Television Award). Nominations include Best Limited Series at the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards.

Filmed and set in Cardiff, the heart-wrenching three-part series tells the story of singer and artiste Gabriel and his partner Andy as they go through the complicated process of adopting a child. It is a Duck Soup Films production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Exec Producers are Rebekah Wray-Rogers, Libby Durdy, Jessica Brown Meek, Sophie Francis, Daf James and James Kent for Duck Soup, Jo McClellan for the BBC and Nick Andrews for BBC Cymru Wales.
