Gripping film from Stern & Wild client on Kremlin's UK assassination plot airs on CNN
Shout out to Stern & Wild filmmaker Dan Vernon whose latest feature documentary THE SALISBURY POISONINGS: A SPY NEXT DOOR has received a great reception from critics and viewers after dropping on CNN last night.
The film examines the 2018 Novichok nerve agent attack on former Russian intelligence agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury and charts how this local incident exploded into an international showdown, revealing the escalating shadow conflict between Russia and the West. Writing in Forbes, Andy Meeks describes the film as having “the feel of a real-life spy thriller”.
Adding to the storyline’s tension is the insight of a definitive account built on in-depth interviews with senior UK officials who led the response, including former Prime Minister Theresa May, together with first responders, the people of Salisbury and investigative journalist Christo Grozev who was pivotal in identifying the suspects behind the attack. Theresa May was interviewed a few days ago about the film and its findings by CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.
Directed by Dan, THE SALISBURY POISONINGS is a Passion Pictures production for CNN Films in association with Propagate Content and West Buttermilk. It was developed and produced by Alex Brisland. Exec Producers are Kari Lia, Hamish Ferguson, David Moulton and Andrew Ruhemann for Passion Pictures; Amy Entelis and Roxanna Sherwood for CNN Films; Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens for Propagate Content; and James Packer for West Buttermilk.
The film will be available to screen in the UK soon on Sky. We can’t wait to watch it. In the meantime, the CNN trailer is out now.
