Chris Martin is an award-winning filmmaker making documentaries and drama-documentary in the UK, the USA and around the world. His drama documentary Under The Wire was Highly Commended at the 2019 Grierson Awards - he drew on a range of genres to tell the story of renowned war correspondent Marie Colvin's final assignment to Syria in 2012.

Chris is drawn to combining different genres and filming styles, bringing the best of journalism and a visual flair to the ultimate aim of telling stories and engaging people. Since 2007, he has run large drama shoots across the world, including the Kalahari desert in Namibia, maximum security prisons in Argentina, and offshore night-time shoots in South Africa and Morocco.

He produced and directed a number of award-winning films with journalist John Pilger, covering international issues from as far apart as Palestine, Afghanistan and South America. He started in television running investigative documentaries for World In Action and Dispatches.

There is another side to his work - Chris spent four years devising satirical stunts to expose wrong doing in high places for The Mark Thomas Comedy Product, a cult C4 series which broke numerous front page stories, led to changes in tax laws, and the resignation of two cabinet ministers. His own two-part special, which used a fictitious PR firm to expose techniques arms dealers use to deal with the press, was awarded a Special Commendation by Amnesty International, and the "Golden Boot" award from Privacy International.

Chris’s films have been shown on Netflix, Amazon, BBC One and Two, Channel Four, Film Four, Discovery, Smithsonian Channel, ITV, National Geographic and others.
