Broadcast explores the legacy of Alex Thomas’ heartbreaking BIBAA & NICOLE documentary
Earlier this month, Broadcast brought together the directors behind two of 2025’s standout documentaries to discuss the impact of their projects. One of the filmmakers is Stern & Wild client Alex Thomas whose multi-award winning three-part series BIBAA & NICOLE: MURDER IN THE PARK sought to reframe the true crime genre by putting the victims, not the perpetrators, at the heart of the story.
A True Vision production for Sky Documentaries, Alex’s series retells the harrowing story behind the killings of sisters Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman in 2020, and the shocking police misconduct that followed. In the interview he talks about the extraordinary impact the series has had, including how it raised awareness of racism and misogyny in the Met, changed dismissal procedures, and the fact the first episode is now being used to help train Met police officers.
Alex’s fellow interviewee is BOYZONE: NO MATTER WHAT director Sophie Oliver. Read the full feature here.
