Stern & Wild filmmaker is one of the creatives behind topical new BBC series exploring how AI technology is reshaping people’s lives for better or worse
Shout out to Stern & Wild client Mark Bates, one of the filmmakers behind a fascinating new documentary series investigating some of the most extraordinary human stories emerging from the world of artificial intelligence hosted by mathematician and broadcaster Prof Hannah Fry, which launches on BBC Two tonight.
A highlight of the BBC’s upcoming cross-platform season of programming exploring the impact of the AI revolution on everyday life and work, AI CONFIDENTIAL WITH HANNAH FRY focuses on the dramatic and often unsettling intersections of technology and human existence. It follows the stories of people whose lives have been changed by artificial intelligence in huge ways – from falling in love with an AI chatbot, life and death decisions made by robots, to individuals whose lives have been upended by Silicon Valley corporations.
The series is produced for BBC Two and iPlayer by Curious Films in association with The Open University. Vikki Miller is Series Producer; Harriet Bird is Director. Mark is Edit Producer of the final episode ASSASSIN AND THE ALGORITHM which investigates the link between AI in healthcare and the shooting of a major US health insurance CEO, looking at how algorithms can be used to deny medical claims.
It airs on BBC Two weekly from 9.00pm tonight, with all episodes available to stream on iPlayer from today.
