Stern & Wild client to helm new C4 competition show for food brand superfans

We are thrilled to report Stern & Wild filmmaker Marcus Liversedge is Series Director on NEXT ON THE MENU, a newly announced culinary competition show for Channel 4 which offers superfans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a new menu item for some of the world’s biggest high-street food brands.

Hosted by comedian Ellie Taylor, the four-part series will give the contestants and viewers unprecedented access to the development kitchens and teams at some of the country’s biggest food retailers as it reveals the real processes behind how new menu items are conceived, tested and launched. Each episode will introduce a new cast of superfans who step inside the beating heart of these major chains as they compete to turn their culinary dreams into commercially viable reality.

Ellie Taylor said: “I’m looking forward to watching genuine superfans pitch their mouth-watering dream creations and I love that viewers will get a proper behind-the-scenes look at how big food brands evolve and maybe even help shape what we’ll all be eating next.”

The series is produced for Channel 4 by UK indie South Shore. It was commissioned by C4’s Senior Commissioning Editor, Clemency Green, alongside Jo Street, Director of Commissioning for Nations, Regions and Lifestyle. Exec Producers for South Shore are Andrew MacKenzie and Melanie Leach and the Showrunner is Jimmy Skelton.

Marcus’ recent directing credits include last year’s brilliant documentary special BRICKS ON TRACK: BUILDING THE LEGO F1 DRIVERS’ PARADE which is currently in the running for the top Branded Entertainment award at the upcoming British Arrows.
