Latest accolade for Alex Thomas’s powerful BIBAA & NICOLE

We are delighted to report another fantastic win for Alex Thomas’s brilliant BIBAA & NICOLE: MURDER IN THE PARK which was awarded the Best Documentary prize at this year’s RTS East Awards.

The win is the latest in an incredible awards run for the three-part Sky Documentaries series which revisits the harrowing story behind the killings of sisters Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman in 2020, and the shocking police misconduct that followed. One of the most impactful productions of 2025, the production asks difficult questions about institutional racism in the Met and the wider epidemic of violence against women and girls in the UK. It has been widely praised for giving a powerful voice to the friends and family of Bibaa and Nicole and their fight for police reform which has resulted in the creation of a raft of positive changes in Metropolitan Police procedures.

BIBAA & NICOLE was produced for Sky by True Vision TV and was first broadcast in May 2025. Awards for the series include Best Crime and Justice Documentary and Best Documentary Series at the 2025 Grierson Awards, the Documentary Series prize at the 2026 RTS Programme Awards, Best Factual Series at the 2026 Broadcast Awards, and a Highly Commended citation for Outstanding Three-Or-More-Part Docuseries at the 2026 CrimeCon UK True Crime Awards.
