Two projects from Stern & Wild filmmakers in the running for this year’s Critics Choice Real TV Awards
Many congratulations to Leo McCrea and Robin O’Sullivan whose brilliant docuseries No Taste Like Home with Antoni Porowski has been nominated in three categories at the upcoming Critics Choice Real TV Awards, and to George Amponsah, Johanna Gibbon, Annabel Hobley and Alex Thomas whose wonderful series Erased: WW2’s Heroes of Colour has received one nomination. This year sees the seventh outing for the awards, which were launched by the Critics Choice Association in 2018 to recognise achievement in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms.
The six-part series No Taste Like Home follows culinary expert and star of Queer Eye Antoni Porowski as he travels the globe with celebrity guests to explore their ancestral gastronomic roots. It will compete for Best Structured Series and Best Travel/Adventure Show while host Antoni Porowski is nominated for the Male Star of the Year award (for this series and the latest season of Queer Eye). Robin is the Showrunner and Exec Producer and Leo is a Director, helming three of the series’ six episodes.
The timely and eye-opening four-part series Erased: WW2’s Heroes of Colour, which is exec produced and narrated by Idris Elba, reveals the untold stories of some of the eight million soldiers of colour who fought for the Allies during the Second World War. It is nominated for Best Limited Series. Johanna Gibbon is Exec Producer, Annabel Hobley is Co-Exec Producer, and George Amponsah and Alex Thomas are Directors.
Good luck to everyone!
The winners will be announced online at CriticsChoice.com on Thursday, 29 May at 5:00pm (UK time). For a full list of nominations, click here.
